The Burlington Senior AAA Women's Hockey Club holds "open" tryouts on Saturday May 3 for all players who would like to test their skills to see if they can play at the highest level available for women's hockey.
The tryouts take place at Appleby Arena, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with an hour break at 11:30 a.m. The cost to participate is $20 per player. A second round of tryouts will take place at the Wave Twin Pad Arena Sunday, May 4 at 11:00 a.m. by invitation only or for those who are unable to make Saturday's session.
Heading into their second season and playing in the CWHL (Canadian Women's Hockey League), this will be the first time the Burlington team has held "open" tryouts. The newly formed CWHL has just completed a successful first season and is planning some wonderful changes and events for 2008-09. With more than 17 Olympians playing in the seven-team league, the competition is furious and the game is smooth and fast. The Burlington team will also be moving their home to a new facility.
