The Dundas Junior C Blues are celebrating 50 years of hockey and are kicking off the new season by holding their annual golf tournament on June 1 at Flamborough Hills Golf Club.
"As we have in past tournaments, this event is strictly for fun and it is aimed at golfers at all levels," said Blues president Rick Spencer.
The event will feature a variety of contests on each hole.
"This being our 50th year of hockey as a community team in Dundas, all of our fans and sponsors make a special effort to come out and celebrate with us," said Spencer. "We operate solely on the their support and, unlike almost all of the other Jr C teams, the Blues are staffed entirely with volunteers."
Fundraising events are therefore very important for the club. Tickets for the golf tournament are $130 per golfer and include the green fees, power cart, steak dinner, a player gift bag and entry into all golf contests. Registration starts at 10 a.m. on June 1, with golf starting at 11 a.m.
Tickets are available at both Boston Pizza and the Collins Brewhouse, or by calling Rick at 905-518-3898.
