I would like to let everyone know there are still honest people out there no matter what we read.
On Sept. 5 I stopped at Blair's Variety Store in Dundas. I checked some lottery tickets and decided to purchase $10 more for the Saturday night draw. After paying the young lady behind the counter, I realized I was holding up other customers in line and I moved to one side. After putting away my change, I returned to my car outside.
Later that night I realized I did not have my new ticket in my wallet. The next day I checked my car and retraced my movements from the day before with no success. I drove down to Blair's as a last resort. The owner's son was manning the store. I asked if by chance I might have left my ticket on the counter or dropped it on the floor from the day before.
To my surprise, once I gave him the time of the purchase and amount of the ticket, he checked his lost and found area to find two tickets left behind. One of them was mine. They had put it in a safe area hoping I would return to claim it. It is sure nice to know there are honest people out there.
