On-line travel company Expedia Inc. and cruise vacation specialist CruiseShipCenters International have combined forces to form an alliance.
"This is outstanding news," said Craig Newton, owner of the Ancaster-Dundas CruiseShipCenters location. "Leveraging the two distinct brands will be a huge benefit not only to us, but to the other centers across the country as well".
Expedia announced the strategic investment in CruiseShipCenters in a move to broaden its exposure to offline distribution channels.
CruiseShipCenters has built a reputation as a market leader in North America's cruise vacation industry, booking more than 20 percent of all cruises sold in Canada.
"This will obviously help the Expedia customer when making the decision to book their Dream Vacation", said Mr. Newton. "When on-line, we'll have a branded tab that will take them to where they need to be to get their questions answered, and that's to us."
Mr. Newton and his family have owned their location since August of 1999 with a mantra of Let our Family take care of your Family.
"It's worked well for us, and now the partnership with Expedia will only expand those principles," he said. "Our consultants will be even better equipped to grow their business."
