The Atom AE team sponsored by Investors Group headed into the second round of OMHA playdowns.
In Caledonia the boys came out flat. Goalies Andrew Barwinski and Adam Boyes kept the score lower than it could have been at 4-1. With their backs against the wall, the team knew Saturday night they had to come out flying to get the advantage in the best-of-five series. The first period was scoreless, then in the second, Ethan Riggs scored, assisted by Adam Della Ventura and Adam Van Egdom .
The third period started with a lot of penalties. Defensive play by Kevin McLean, Austin Garofalo and Kyle Young, along with strong back checking from Jaden Vallentin, Kurtis Howie, Liam Horning and Jordan Contant, kept Caledonia from scoring. With pressure on, Parker Seidlitz came from behind the net to pass to Trevor Ward for the 3-0 victory.
