Connections Naked takes over both the north and south galleries.
In 1999 a small group of experienced, award-winning fibre artists wanted to expand the field of fibre as an art form. They invited other fibre artists to a meeting and Connections was born.
With 27 artists based in Canada and the United Kingdom, many shows have since been mounted in galleries and museums in Ontario and across Canada.
Many of the artists are teachers and published authors and most are pioneers in their art form. Fibre is the medium that connects the group, giving their art depth, texture and diversity.
For the Carnegie show, the artists have created new work to explore nuances of the word "naked" from top to bottom, inside and out, back to front.
Admission to the gallery, 10 King St. W.,is always free.
An opening reception for Naked Connections takes place Friday, Feb. 5, 7 -9:30 p. m. See www.connectionsfibreartists.com or www.carnegiegallery.org
