There were a total of 16 people at my count, and some issues about the disastrous outcome of the Biedermann Packaging fire on July 26, 2007, were talked about.
I was asked by a few people where our government representatives were. They were supposed to be there to answer some questions. I was told they were informed of the event by email. The only person who showed any concern was NDP MPP Andrea Horwath, who did send a representative to discuss the issues and a letter of concern.
For those of you who don’t know, we had a major catastrophe happen in Dundas. Some 900,000 litres of contaminated water ran into sewers and Spencer Creek. Residents should be aware of the chemicals that were released and that are being stored at Biedermann Packaging.
The only reason I was saddened at this public forum was instead of just 16 citizens, it would have been nice to see at least 116 citizens. This is your environment, your conservation, where your kids have to grow up.
