Dundas' Christopher Ross was named the NCAA Mid-American Conference player of the week after a top 10 finish Sept. 29, which included a career low single round score of 4-under par 67.
With his first top-10 finish of the NCAA season, Dundas golfer Christopher Ross earned Golfer of the Week honors in the Mid-American Conference for the third time in four years.
Now in his final year at Eastern Michigan University, Ross finished ninth at the Mason Rudolph Championship Sept. 28-29 in Franklin, Tenn. His rounds of 74, 67 and 71 were good enough for his seventh career top-10 finish in 40 events.
His four under par 67 in the second round marked a career-low single round score. It's also the second lowest single round score in the conference so far this season. In his final NCAA golf season, Ross and his team are scheduled to play next in North Carolina Oct. 27-28 at the UNCG Bridgestone Golf Collegiate Championship.
Meanwhile, Kent State University freshman and Dundas native Mackenzie Hughes continued his first season of NCAA golf with a 62nd place tie at the Windon Memorial tournament in Illinois. Hughes shot rounds of 74, 79 and 75 as he continues to settle into his position at his new school.
This was Hughes' fourth NCAA tournament this season. He opened the year in his first tournament with a top 20 finish and rounds of 71 and 72.
