On behalf of Dundas Community Services, we would like to thank everyone for their tremendous support of the Dundas Community Food Drive this past Saturday, specifically the Dundas Lions for the barbecue, the Dundas Lioness for their refreshments, the Rotary Clubs of Dundas for assembling all the boxes, The Salvation Army, Debra Downey, editor of the Dundas Star News and Ancaster News for her excellent coverage, and of course, to all the wonderful volunteers who came out in droves to support such an important community event.
As the saying goes, "many hands make light work," and that sure proved true on Saturday. To those who squeezed an hour out of their busy day, those who were there until the last box was packed and those who supported us in donating to the 85,000 pounds of food that was collected, we truly can't thank you enough. It makes one proud to live in such a generous and caring community.
Finally, we would like to thank Dr. John MacRae, who for 13 years chaired this event and made it the success it is today. Hold your heads up, you showed your true community spirit .
Robert Turner and Rev. Dr. Don Donaghey,
Co-chairs, Dundas Community Food Drive
