
The Giant's Rib Discovery Centre presents Carolinian Forest Depicted Through Tapestry with artist Lorraine Roy as part of its ongoing. Bruce Duncan Memorial Lecture Series.
The series, named in honour of the former general manager of the Hamilton Conservation Authority, is dedicated to promoting the Niagara Escarpment as an internationally recognized World Biosphere Reserve, as well as being a truly unique topographic feature of this area's natural and cultural heritage.
Ms. Roy is a Dundas textile artist who specializes in fabric wall hangings. Her art is a fantastic melding of biological accuracy, eye for colour play, graphic design and expertise in quilting.
The series takes place Sunday, Oct. 19, 2 p.m. at the Dundas Valley Trail Centre, Dundas Valley Conservation Area, 650 Governor's Rd., Dundas. Park entrance fee is a $2 per person, or a maximum $5 per car.
No admission fee for children under 12. There is no charge for the lectures, but donations are welcome and appreciated.
