Dundas All-Stars slugger Aidan Crawford hits a ball off the tee at last year's tournament.
A Civic holiday tradition marks its 39th year next month when Ancaster Little League hosts the annual World T-Ball Tournament Aug. 1-4.
The tournament draws teams from Ancaster, Dundas and areas all across Southern Ontario. Space is available for an estimated 34 teams in five divisions. Teams are guaranteed five games for a registration fee of $360.
Souvenirs, food and drink vouchers are included for all players. Championship trophies will be awarded.
Players must be age six, seven or eight as of April 30, 2008. There are no team ratio restrictions for age or gender.
"This is both a highly competitive tournament leading to the true World T-ball champion, but more importantly a fun tournament leaving a lifetime of good memories," noted director Mark Strongman on the tournament's official Web site.
Many past competitors return annually as adults to watch the tournament and revisit what is truly a field of dreams, Mr. Strongman said.
