Craig Licata recently ran in the Minor Track Association Indoor Provincial Championships at York University. He ran the 800 metres, beating his best time by five seconds, for a fourth place finish in the 10 and under age group. Craig also ran the 60-metre sprint for the first time and came home with a fourth-place ribbon.

Dundas Concert Band members, Dr. Ruth St. Amand and Bev Blayney, sound the call for racers during the 16th annual Race Night, a fundraiser for the Equestrian Association for the Disabled. The event, held at Marritt Hall, Ancaster Fairgrounds, is TEAD’s major fundraiser and attracted a full house of more than 400 volunteers and supporters of the therapeutic riding program which provides physical benefits, socialization and joy to disabled people of all ages.

Brothers own the (science fair) podium
Brothers Ben, left, Christopher and Nicholas Denomey from St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School let it be known who owned the podium after winning three medals and a Cancer Assistance Program Award at the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board’s 28th Annual System Science Fair. Ben, Grade 4, did his project on plant power, while Christopher, Grade 5, studied the effects of music on concentration. Big brother Nicholas, Grade 7, investigated the effectiveness of sunscreens with different SPF levels.
