Leaders in Literacy
The top readers and fundraisers at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Elementary School in last year’s MS Read A-Thon are on well into this year’s effort and hope to top the $4,800 they raised last year’s as one of the leading area schools. Linda DaSilva, Emily Gibel, Natasha Dahl, Sarah Rotella, Emily Clarkson and Natalie Meier (absent) were the schools top readers and fundraisers.

The boys went undefeated through both zones and regional playdowns (outscoring their opponents 46-9) to qualify for the bantam provincials in Oshawa, Feb 5-7. The team of bantam boys aged 13-16 is also ranked 14th on the Ontario Junior curling tour for players up to 20 years of age.
